Alice Springs: Riding into Town

June 5th, 2008 : alice-springs-riding-into-town

View from Anzac Hill Alice SpringsWe had to change camp sites, which was a pity as we quite liked our spot against a fence with nice green grass. We had to half pack up the van and drive it around to to a more sociable site on a corner. All the moving made us a little late, and we had to rush on our pushbikes into town to meet up with Uncle Micky. Afterwards we did a little exploring around the mall and city centre before lunch then a ride back home along the dry Todd River. Olive couldn't last the distance and amusingly fell asleep on the back of the bike and was hanging limply out the side by the time we arrived back to camp. There are some great bike tracks around the town, and being very flat makes it easy riding too. We are gradually getting used to living in a van, and are gradually getting our routines in order enabling us to get things done without getting in each others way too much.
