Overnight the rain began, continuing intermittently throughout the day - not a great start to our trip.
It was cold outside, but we were all so tired we slept superbly in the van, over 10 hours. All the stress, late nights and early days of the last week had caught up with us.
We were at a great camping spot, but we could hardly enjoy it through the rain, though Olive seemed to like the puddles.
We got back on the road, and headed north towards Swan Hill. We enjoyed lunch and a play in the park between showers was at Kerang. The road passes some large lakes, but the biggest, lake Mongo was bone dry. That cannot be too good for the local fishermen.
We stayed at Swan Hill Riverside caravan park on the shore of the Murray and within walking distance of town. After only a day or so of the trip we were hanging out for a warm shower. We are happy to see that better weather is forecast for the next few days.
