Port Lincoln, Yorke Peninsula: Cool Room

January 29th, 2009 : port-lincoln-yorke-peninsula-cool-room

Port Vincent BayWith the current heat wave, we decided to stay put and sit it out. As soon as the air-conditioned rec. room opened, we pounced. We used the opportunity to catch up on emails and Sharon put her head down to finish off her very overdue assignment. Throughout the day there were short dashes into the 44oC heat, to the shop and later to the beach. By evening, the wind died down and it turned into a great balmy evening. We had home cooked burgers overlooking the bay as the sun set over the Bay of St Vincent, then Sharon and Clare devoured a couple of crabs kindly donated by a fisherman Sharon befriended. Clare, Rob and Olive then finished the evening with a dip in the calm tepid waters of the bay. Sharon stayed up till 1am and to everyone’s relief she finished her assignment.
