Nanga Mill Campsite, Lane Poole Conservation Reserve: Our Last Night

April 6th, 2009

Lane Poole KangarooThis is our last full day before we return to Perth, so we decided to relax in this bush camp spot at Nanga Mill, at Lane Poole Conservation Reserve.

In the morning Clare and Olive walked across a bridge and explored the other side of the river, and we all went for another walk in the opposite direction in search of the elusive Shangri-La.

After lunch, Clare gave Rob a haircut, and Olive got her first ever cut too. We all had a little wash in the cold river to clean ourselves up, some of us immersing more than others! A few kangaroos came around in the evening, always to Olive’s delight. With the combined efforts of Clare and Rob we managed to build a fire, which was a good effort since we didn’t bring any of our own firewood.

This is our last night before we return to Perth, maybe indefinitely. It is hard to imagine life not travelling like this, and having to live in a house…
