Day 1: Saturday 10th May

We arrived at our hotel needing to find somewhere to eat straight away. We were directed to a good hawkers market behind the nearby OG building, about 5 minutes walk away.

The hawker centre was comprised of mostly Chinese food stalls.

It was hard to choose from the large selection, so much looked great. Our meal included popia (a pancake roll filled with meat cucumber sauce- delicious),

Rob discovered an old favourite from Malaysia - black carrot cake. They also had a white carrot cake dish, which is the ame without the dark sauce. It is not made from carrot either - it is made from radishes.

It was from the only place with a line, so it must be good.

and spring rolls.

The food is surprisingly cheap. However, the beer was not as cheap as we are used to. We had one anyway - Tiger Beer.
