Litchfield Park: Cascades

June 27th, 2008 : litchfield-park-cascades

Buley Rock Hole at LitchfieldOn our way to Litchfield Park, we passed through the town of Batchelor and visited a butterfly farm. As a bonus for Olive they also had a petting zoo, so she got to see plenty of rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, chickens, peacocks, turtles and a pig. We have spent many days previously here at Litchfield when we were living in Darwin, as it's a great day's outing. We returned to our favourite spot, the Buley Rockholes, and set up camp nearby. It was a pretty hot day, and the series of cascades and small rock pools were as good as we remembered. It was nice to camp nearby, as we had always visited on day trips before. This way we could be at the rock holes after the day tripping crowds had returned to Darwin.
