Today we enjoyed a trip to the big smoke. First stop was Haigh’s chocolate factory. We missed the free tour but were still able to get free tastings, and have a look at them making and wrapping the chocolates by hand - no wonder they are so expensive. After a walk through the mall, we headed to the Central Markets, and amongst mostly food stalls, we found a good Malaysian café for lunch. Next stop was the Jam factory, a contemporary art and craft shop and gallery. We saw some student’s glass blowing and Clare found a gorgeous handbag to, which Rob belatedly bought for her birthday. Rob had a quick look in the Migration Museum, then we visited the State Library looking for the Bradman collection, only to discover that it has been moved to the Adelaide Oval. We won’t be going there today as there is a one-day match being played, Aus v NZ. Finally, we went for a stroll through the Botanic Gardens, which highlighted some huge Amazon Lilies. After a long walking day we headed back to our current home for lasagna cooked by Kristy.
