Port Lincoln: Sweating it Out

January 28th, 2009 : port-lincoln-sweating-it-out

Hot Sleeping OliveWe packed up and drove to the Yorke Peninsula. The forecast 43 degrees made the air con in the van struggle. We reached solace in the air conditioning at the Ardrossan supermarket. We could not resist the Adelaide show award winning pasties at the bakery. After our rest and cooling down, we had a short but extremely hot drive a little further south to the small fishing village of Port Lincoln. Rob took advantage of the air-conditioned recreation room to catch up on some work, but was soon joined by everyone else. A beach swim at 5pm still felt like middle-of-the day heat, but was refreshing all the same. The wind picked up for the evening, and became a gale overnight with our back tent almost blowing away. A quick check at 2am ensured Sharon hadn’t blown away either!
