After a last visit to the cows in the next paddock, we moved right along to the quaint and historic village of Morpeth. We arrived too early - due to Rob’s efficiency with packing the van – and most of the shops were not yet open. So we relaxed over a coffee before taking a stroll up and down the main street. There were lots of gorgeous gift stores, and a teddy bear shop that Olive loved. Morpeth is just an outer suburb of the larger town of Maitland. Here we had lunch at their main park, then spent a couple of hours walking the streets admiring their large number of heritage buildings. We stayed the night at Cessnock, in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine region, ready for exploring and wine tasting tomorrow.
