Townsville: New Fridge

September 16th, 2008 : townsville-new-fridge

Oive and JakAfter dropping off the van to have a new fridge installed, we started our day in town with a walking tour of some of the historic buildings in the city area. The city is very quiet.  We had a coffee and read the paper while Olive slept, then visited the free Perc Tucker Art Gallery. Another walking tour… this time across the river in the south of Townsville. In this old port area among the big warehouses and run down buildings, there are a few nice restaurants and restored pubs. At the end of the day we caught the bus back to pick up the van. We are very happy with our new fridge, only time will tell if it does the job efficiently. We celebrated our big purchase with a meal out. This also gives the Reynolds a break from us!! We were home early though, as it is our last night with Tim and his family, and Emily was keen to spend some more time with Olive. We like Townsville, although it may be influenced by the great weather since we have been here.
