Darwin: lots of animals

July 8th, 2008 : darwin-lots-of-animals

Picnic at Howard SpringsWe both had our eyes checked out by our trusty friend and optometrist Chris. Conclusion: Clare needs reading glasses (and is getting a groovy pair made up) and Rob will need some soon too. It is not only our van that is breaking down, but we are getting old and falling to bits as well! For the rest of the day we went back to the motel to regroup. Nothing is going to plan… aahhh but that's OK because we didn't have much of a plan anyway. We ventured up the road to Howard Springs to see the giant barras and have a BBQ. We saw barramundi, pesky birds trying to eat our dinner off the plate, butterflies, wallabies, giant mosquitos (they grow big up here), even a wild pig and back at our place a cane toad in the playground. Yes they have made it here too.

Just do what I did to improve my eyesight - have more children! The plan seems to be going well so far. Enjoying the photos and comments. Getting colder here and Canberra is expecting to reach 1 degree overnight - where would you rather be. Enjoy and speak soon.
