We left Newcastle with a sunny warm day looming, but with not much idea of where we were headed (other than southwards). We read our tourist brochures as we went along, and stopped for a look at the lighthouse at Norah, the lookout from the Crackneck (with a view of The Entrance) and walked up The Skillion lookout at Terrigal, and a swim at Avoca Beach (the water was very chilly, we must be accustomed to the warmer northern oceans). At the end of the day we had reached Ettalong, just south of Gosford, and pulled in for the night at the caravan park.
