Emu Park: Grand Final day

September 27th, 2008 : emu-park-grand-final-day

Singing ShipClare took a walk with Olive and her surrogate family, a few kids from the caravan park who have latched onto Olive. They saw the feature icon of Emu Park, the singing ship – a tribute to Captain Cook which makes music when the wind blows through the slender pipes. They played at the skate park with Olive impressing everyone with her ramp tricks, running up and down the ramps, which included some stacks. We all went for a refreshing swim at the beach while the tide was in. You need to time your swim well, as when the tide goes out, it goes out a long way. A lot of the beaches around here have been very similar. We went to the local pub (the only one in town) which overlooks the beach, and watched Hawthorn beat Geelong in the AFL grand final. There were not too many AFL fans around, but enough atmosphere to enjoy the game. Olive was happily entertained by other kids from the caravan park. Emu Park is a quaint and sleepy little town.
