We returned to the Rainforest Habitat of two days ago, as our ticket enabled us to return for free. This time though, we opted for the 'Breakfast with the Birds', a buffet breakfast inside the bird enclosure, which meant that we had to share our tables with some of them. This was very enjoyable, particularly for Olive, except when the birds started eating the food off our plates and drinking from our cups! There was a great spread of exotic tropical fruits, which Clare knew all about after her exotic fruit farm tour of a couple of weeks ago. After breakfast we returned to Port Douglas to visit the great local markets, we also went up to the lookout for a spectacular view along the beach. After some shopping we drove off up to the Atherton Tablelands, stopping at Granite Gorge just outside of Mareeba. Here you can feed the friendly and excitable rock wallabies. A quick dip in the rock pool finished off our day.
