We drove out early to meet up with Mick for a bush walk in the Conway National Park, which borders with Airlie Beach. It was a pleasant walk out to a beach completely covered in dead coral pieces. We entertained ourselves picking though the coral finding interesting shapes. Afterwards we went for a coffee at a secluded café only the locals know about, high up overlooking Shute Harbour with sensational views of the moored sail boats and islands. We left Airlie Beach at lunchtime and drove south to Smalleys Beach at Cape Hillsborough National Park. Our campsite here is possibly the best we have had on this trip, with a picnic table right at the steps down to the beach. It is a long quiet isolated beach, a very relaxing spot.
