We all had restless sleep as the wind gusts shook the van all night. It had been forecast for rain later in the day, so we got another hike in early. We headed in the opposite direction to yesterday, to the south end of Nelson Bay. The benefit of heading out early was that there was more wildlife around. We turned around at Nelson Point after seeing the magnificent view from the rocky lookout, about 1.5 hours of walking. The prom is also well known for the friendly rosellas which we could not resist feeding. The campsite is getting busy for the weekend, despite the poor forecast. Rain did not come until later in the afternoon, after Clare took Olive for another long walk. If it is still raining in the morning we’ll finally head back to Melbourne. It isn’t worth staying around here if it’s wet, as there is already a puddle forming under the van!
