Mt Beauty: Simply Beautiful

December 4th, 2008 : mt-beauty-simply-beautiful

Holbrook SubmarineBefore we left Gundagai, we took a look around the town centre, with a quick look at an old bridge and the main street. Hidden at the back of the visitors centre was Musconi’s Marble Masterpiece, a wonderful but weird marble miniature palace – it belongs in a gallery not in an information centre. From here we drove and drove again (probably not that far, but it felt like a long way as we are not used to such long driving since the NT/QLD border), with breaks at Holbrook to visit the submarine and a lunch stop in Albury. Again we crossed a state border, back in Victoria from where we started. We reached our final destination of Mt Beauty – what a beauty! At the near empty caravan park we had the choice of anywhere on the grassy banks next to a bubbling brook with the views of mountains in the distance – just superb.
