The Insta-famous blue boat house in my hometown of Perth We had a full shore excursion day exploring Hobart. It was a beautiful sunny day (except for atop Mt Wellington / kunanyi). Lunch in the beer garden at Cascade brewery was the highlight. Also hiked to Myrtle Gully Falls, and checked out Mawson's Hut. Unfortunately MONA was closed this day. Five nights cruising on the Carnival Splendor, Sydney to Tasmania. Great weather, calm seas, and plenty to keep us all occupied. We can tick cruising off our bucket list. Back to more adventurous travel next time. We’re back from India, and here are some photos from our final destination, Chennai. Although we only stayed for one night, we treated ourselves to a luxurious stay, which provided a striking contrast to the crazy busy streets of the city. The small seaside town of Mahabalipuram is renowned for its ancient rock carvings. It was the second-to-last stop on our three-week South India tour. The town had a serene, laid-back vibe. We strolled through its streets, exploring the magnificent temples, picking up some last-minute souvenirs, and gearing up for the hustle and bustle of Chennai. Pondicherry was a great place to spend Christmas. There was lots of action in the evenings around the old colonial French Quarter, good beaches and delicious bakeries.
