This list is our own personal top-ten museums we have visited, based on what we have seen and experienced in 30+ years of travel. Here are listed museum, there is another Top-10 List of our favourite art galleries.

1. Steampunk HQ, Oamaru NZ
Steampunk HQ is an art collaboration and gallery in the historic Victorian precinct of Oamaru, in the South Island of New Zealand from our trip in 2019.
2. Teylers Museum, Haarlem, The Netherlands
With our family’s interest in science, history and art, the Teylers Museum in Haarlem was a perfect fit. The museum was established in 1778 and has not changed a lot since then. We spent a fascinating couple of hours exploring the old exhibits. The kids’ treasure hunt had an extra challenge, having to translate it from Dutch as we went along.
3. Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt
The huge Egyptian Museum, also known as the Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of Egyptian artefacts. The volume of pharaoh information was overwhelming. The highlights were the treasures from Tutankhamun’s tomb, and some mummified animals.
4. El Museo De Las Momias, Guanajuato Mexico
In Guanajuato Mexico is a museum called El Museo De Las Momias (“The Mummies’ Museum”), displaying the remains of bodies dug up from the local cemetery. unique chemicals in the soil accidentally preserved many of the bodies buried in the cemetery. Many have been dug up and put on display.
5. Leonardo da Vinci Museum, Vinci, Italy
In his home town of Vinci, there is an excellent museum with many of his drawings and models of his inventions.
6. British Museum, London UK
An amazing collection
7. Mozart Museum, Salzburg, Austria
The Mozart Museum, in the house in which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg Austria.
8. Scuola Grande di San Marco, Venice Italy
Small museum collection at the entrance to the beautiful hospital. The exhibits comprise old pages of medical books and equipment wonderfully laid out in a magnificent room.
9. Bradman Museum, NSW, Australia
The Bradman Museum in Bowral NSW Australia is a must for any cricket fan.
10. Swiss Open-Air Museum, Ballenberg Switzerland
